IMPORTANT NOTE: The registration season runs from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024. If you joined a club during the summer, you will need to re-register for the 2023-24 season after 1st April 2023 to be eligible for a Championship placing and to receive a medal. Please contact your club to arrange.
Course location / Description: The event is being held at St. Peter’s School, Cambridge. Please enter the grounds through the main gates and park at the Robb Sports Centre – take the first right after going through the school gates. The start/finish area is a short walk from the car park.
The main course is a 2.0 km out and back loop over mainly flat terrain giving race distances of either 4km, 6km, 8km or 10km, except for the Under 12 G/B, Under 14 G/B race which will be 3km, and the Under 18 Women, Under 20 Women and Masters (35+) Women’s race which will be 5km.
For the Under 12 G/B, Under 14 G/B, Under 18 Women, Under 20 Women and Masters Women (35+) the Start Line is at the 1km mark for these races.

Facilities: Toilets will be close to start/finish area. Club tents can be placed in the field next to the start area prior to 11am. Parking is in the Robb Sports Centre Car Park – take the first right after entering the school grounds through the main gates.
Prize-giving / Refreshments: Prizegiving for the Athletics Waikato BOP Championship events will be on site at the conclusion of events. Athletes and supporters are asked to bring own food and drinks.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for an Athletics Waikato BOP Championship placing, athletes (including masters’ grades) must be registered as a competitive athlete with Athletics Waikato-Bay of Plenty. Non-registered (unaffiliated) or socially registered athletes may compete but are ineligible for Athletics Waikato Bay of Plenty Championship placing or medals. Note that the current registration season is from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024.
Grades: Where races are combined, the grades will be separated in the results.
Ages: Masters graded athletes is age on the day, with results recorded in 5-year age groups. All other grades age is at 31 December 2023.
Closing date: Entries must be made online by mid night Wednesday 16th August 2023.

Athletics Waikato-Bay of Plenty team to the New Zealand Road Championships (Sunday 10th September 2023), Palmerston North. The Waikato BOP team will be selected from those entered at close of entries for the championships ENTRIES: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE MADE ONLINE BY THE ATHLETES THEMSELVES.
To be eligible for the NZ Championships entry subsidy of $50, you must have entered the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Road Race Championships.
