This event incorporates the 2024 Athletics Waikato BOP Road Running Championships

IMPORTANT NOTE: The registration season runs from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025. If you joined a club during the summer, you would need to re-register for the 2024-25 season after 1st April 2024 to be eligible for a Championship placing and to receive a medal - Seniors need to check their registration dates on their rolling membership. If you wish to count for the Championships, you will also need to wear your club uniform.
Course location / Description: The event is being held at the Architectural Glass Products site, Swayne Road, Cambridge. Please enter the through the main gate on Swayne Road if the new main gate on Laurent Road(SH1B) is not open by this date. As you enter, follow the driveway and signs to the parking area near the main building. The parking area is adjacent to the course, with portaloos located in this area.
The course is a 2.5 km loop over flat terrain (see course map).
There will be an U12/U14 race followed by a race with all other grades. There may also be some lapping of runners during the event. You will also need to count your laps to ensure you enter the separate finishing straight on your last lap.
Facilities: There will be portaloos close to start/finish area. Parking is on the north side of the APL building. There are no showers available. First aid will be on site.
Medal Presentations: Will be as soon as possible after the last event completion.
Eligibility: To be eligible for an Athletics Waikato BOP Championship placing, athletes (including masters’ grades) must be registered as a competitive athlete with Athletics Waikato-Bay of Plenty. Non-registered (unaffiliated) or socially registered athletes may compete but are ineligible for Athletics Waikato Bay of Plenty Championship placing or medals. Note that the current registration season is from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025. You also must wear your correct club uniform.
Race Numbers: Race numbers will be allocated to all runners. Pick up point will be near start finish area. We ask that your number be returned after the race in the box provided at finish area.
Grades: Where races are combined, the grades will be separated in the results.
Ages: Masters graded athletes is age on the day, with results recorded in 5-year age groups. All other grades age is at 31 December 2024.
Closing date: Entries must be made online by midnight Thursday 15th August 2024.
