EVENT DATE<ul><li>12TH July 2026 – Runners/Team Runners start at&nbsp;8.00 am. Walkers/Team Walkers at 8.05 am.</li></ul>RACE HEADQUARTERS<ul><li>Coastal Taranaki School Gymnasium – 92 Carthew Street, Okato will be Race Headquarters – all on the day&nbsp;inquiries will be dealt with there.</li></ul>ELIGIBILITY&nbsp;<ul><li>To enter the half marathon or team half marathon each participant must be 14 years of age and above.&nbsp;Participants between the ages of 14 to 16 years must be accompanied by an adult who is also an entrant.</li></ul>START LOCATION<ul><li>The start location is the pedestrian crossing on Oxford Road, Okato. &nbsp;Behind the Taranaki Coastal School and not far from the Okato Police Station.</li></ul>FINISH LOCATION<ul><li>The finish will be on Anglers Avenue, Bayly Road, Warea.</li><li>Parking will be available on Anglers Ave, Warea as directed&nbsp;by marshals.&nbsp; &nbsp;For&nbsp;competitors’ safety, Bayly Road will be a&nbsp;one-way road during the event.&nbsp; Exiting vehicles will be guided by marshals to leave the Boat Club via the Coast Road to Pungarehu.</li></ul>TEAM EVENT<ul><li>The team changeover is located along Mid Newall Road at the 11.4 km mark. There is plenty of road space to park here and a port aloo will be available. The second team member will then run/walk 10.4km to the finish. For all team events team member one can run/walk across the finish line with team member two so that both receive a medal and or spot prize together.</li></ul>TIME LIMIT FOR THE EVENT<ul><li>8.00am - 12.00 pm&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>COMPULSORY RACE BRIEFING<ul><li>All competitors are asked to congregate within the Coastal Taranaki&nbsp;School gymnasium off Carthew Street by&nbsp;7.30 am for the race briefing.&nbsp; &nbsp;All competitors must attend this briefing. You will then be guided to the start line as a group by race marshals.</li></ul>RACE MAP<ul><li>You can view our race map on our website:&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="rich-text-link" href="http://www.capeegmonthalf.com">www.capeegmonthalf.com</a>.</li></ul>RACE NUMBERS<ul><li>All competitors will be allocated with a race number.&nbsp; Competitors&nbsp;who have entered prior to the event can pick up or have a friend pick up their race pack between&nbsp;2 pm-4 pm on Saturday&nbsp;11th of July from Front Runner New Plymouth - 25 Devon Street East New Plymouth. &nbsp;Only competitors&nbsp;that are entering on the day will be issued with a race number&nbsp;on the morning of the event.&nbsp; The race number is to be pinned to the front of your shirt.&nbsp; Please record any medical condition/s you may have on the reverse of the race bib.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>MEDALS<ul><li>Medals are awarded to all half marathon competitors and team half marathoners who finish the event.</li></ul>DRINK STATIONS<ul><li>Half Marathon drink stations will be approximately at the 4.6 km, 11.4km and 15.7km mark.</li></ul>PARKING<ul><li>Parking at the start will be available on Carthew Street, Okato and within the Okato Township. Parking at the finish line will be on Anglers Ave, Warea as directed by marshals.</li></ul>TOILETS<ul><li>Toilets will be available at the start at the Coastal Taranaki School Gymnasium on Carthew Street, Okato and at the finish at the Cape Egmont Boat Club. A Portaloo will be available at the team change over spot on Mid Newall Road.</li></ul>TRANSPORT<ul><li>Transport will be available back to the start in Okato for those that need it.&nbsp; There is no transport to and from the team changeover. Please specify on your entry form overleaf whether you require transport.&nbsp; A donation would be appreciated.&nbsp;</li></ul>FOOD/DRINK<ul><li>Hot food and drink will be available to purchase at the finish from the Boat Club kitchen.</li></ul>SPOT PRIZES<ul><li>Random spot prizes will be given out to those participants who have completed and crossed the finish line. You will be notified at the finisher’s tent as to whether you have won a prize or not.&nbsp; Each team member is eligible for a spot prize.&nbsp; If you do not run/walk in the race, you are not eligible for a spot prize.</li></ul>ANIMALS/VEHICLES/EARPHONES<ul><li>For safety reasons baby buggies, pets and earphones are prohibited. This is to keep everyone as safe as possible.</li></ul>OWN RISK<ul><li>All competitors compete at their own risk. &nbsp;N K S Events ( Cape Egmont Half Marathon )&nbsp;accepts no responsibility as detailed on the terms and conditions and declaration signed at entry.</li></ul>CANCELLATION<ul><li>In extreme weather, the event may be&nbsp;canceled at any time with no refunds.</li><li>&nbsp; If at the time of the event Covid restrictions are in force to an extent which would mean the event is not viable the event will be cancelled, and a special exemption will be made. &nbsp;Competitors will have the option of receiving a full refund or treat it as a donation to the Taranaki Cancer Society and Gabby's Starlit Hope charities.</li></ul>REFUNDS - FOR PERSONAL REASONS<ul><li>No refunds will be made unless the&nbsp;organizers are notified in writing by the 14th of June 2026. &nbsp;No refunds will be available after this date.&nbsp;Refunds will incur a 25% administration fee, based on&nbsp;the entry fee paid, to cover costs.</li></ul>CAPE EGMONT BOAT CLUB<ul><li>All competitors, spectators and support crew are warmly invited to the Cape Egmont Boat Club.&nbsp;On entry, all non-members of the Cape Egmont Boat Club are to sign in on arrival.</li></ul>
