AFL New Zealand is proud to present the AFLNZ Academy Footy Frenzy, taking place at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland from April 13th to 15th. This unique weekend isn't just for seasoned players; it's an opportunity for aspiring athletes eager to delve into the world of AFL or simply to become better athlete.The event welcomes participants from various backgrounds, including AFLNZ Youth and Academy programs, school programmes, and individuals keen to enhance their athleticism or explore AFL. Whether aiming to represent New Zealand internationally or simply looking to refine skills, all are encouraged to join in.The action-packed weekend begins with a high-performance experience at AUT Millennium, home of High-Performance New Zealand, featuring athlete development sessions and educational workshops aimed at unlocking participants' full potential. Highlights include the Combine Test, offering insights into individual performance and potential global opportunities, with results sent to the AFL Talent team in Australia.Throughout the weekend, participants engage in skill sessions with coaches from Australia and top NZ coaches, viewing of final rounds of Female and Male AFLNZ Premiership games on Sunday. The event wraps up with further skill sessions and an information session on upcoming opportunities to represent New Zealand at either the U17’s Pacific Cup (Sunshine Coast, Australia) or the U15’s Oceania Cup (Suva, Fiji) at the end of the year, catering to both male and female athletes.With access to AUT Millennium and athlete development coaches, participants can expect three days of enriching activities, including meals and essential AFLNZ gear.
