Technical Regulations A full list of the Technical Regulations can be found here Eligibility: You must be a club registered athlete for the current 2023-2024 season and wear club uniform for the duration of the competition. Grades: Age as at 31st December 2024 U16 athletes aged 14 & 15 U18 athletes aged 16 & 17 U20 athletes aged 18 & 19 Senior athletes aged 20 + Masters athletes aged 35+ may choose to compete in their relevant 5-year age group (age as at first day of competition), or in Senior Men/Women.
Events: U18, U20, Senior & Masters Men - Decathlon U18, U20, Senior & Masters Women - Heptathlon U16 Men - Octathlon (Day 1: 100m, Javelin, Pole Vault, 300m, Day 2: 100m Hurdles, Discus, Long Jump, 1000m) U16 Women - Hexathlon (Day 1: High Jump, Javelin, 200m, Day 2: 80m Hurdles, Shot Put, 600m) Entry fee: New Zealand Championships (Heptathlon & Decathlon) - $82.16 (includes processing fee) South Island Championships (Hexathlon & Octathlon) - $61.36 (includes processing fee) Close of Entries: Entries close at 11.59pm Sunday 11th February. Club Names & Codes: When asked for your club name (Team Name for Meet Manager) and club code (Team Code for Meet Manager) please copy exactly from the list here. Qualification Times/Distances: Not required for the Championships. Shoes: U18, U20 and Senior athletes: competition shoes need to comply with World Athletics regulations under Technical Rule 5. Please be sure to check that your shoes are on the approved list. You can check on the World Athletics website here. This list is updated regularly. Please note that any shoes bought before 1 January 2016 are deemed to meet the technical requirements of Technical Rule 5.
