COACHING ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT (CAD) LEVEL 1 CAD Level 1 is Athletics New Zealand’s community-level coach education programme. CAD Level 1 teaches the technical fundamentals of 11 athletics events and will help coaches to confidently coach athletics skills to athletes aged up to approximately 16 years old.
The course bridges the gap between the Run Jump Throw Foundation Programme (target age 7 to 11) and competition-based athletics. 36 | All CAD Level 1 event modules are delivered as practical workshops that take up to 2 hours. Coaches can direct their learning to events where they wish to develop their skill set.
• $15 for registered ANZ members (Community Coach, Volunteer, Official, Athlete, or registered school teacher) Having completed the course and the prerequisite requirements of membership (police vetted and completing the World Athletics Safeguarding course), coaches will be sent a “CAD Level 1” attendance certificate
