Caulfield is now registering athletes for the 2025-26 Relay Season. We welcome and encourage all U8-U17 Caulfield athletes to participate in relays this season.
Relay Registration is included in your centre membership fee and there are no additional fees to register.
If you register and attend training, you will be included in at least one team to race.
Relays are great fun and can lead to deep bonds between athletes and their families. Don't miss out!!!
Relay events on offer are - 4x100m, 4x100m Mixed, 4x200m, 4x200m Mixed & Swedish Medleys (100m,300m,200m,400m).
To participate and represent Caulfield LAC in relays you must be a financial member of the Caulfield Little Athletics Centre. If your child is competing at Region or State you will need to complete a duty. Duties and timeslots will be available for you to select once the timetable is finalised.
It is expected that athletes who compete at Region Relays on the 22nd November will also be available for State Relays on the 13th December for U9-U12 athletes and 14th December for U13-U17 athletes (should the team qualify to progress).
In the event that an athlete is only available for Region Relays and not State, another athlete from the same age group will be elevated to the team should the team qualify to progress
Conversely, should an athlete be unavailable at Region, but available for State only, a decision will be made by the CLAC Relays Sub-Committee as to whether team changes can be made for State (should a team progress)
Please refer to the CLAC Relay Policy for more information
Caulfield will also be submitting teams into the traditional Mentone Relay day, including U8's. This event provides a final training run for relay teams entered in the Region Relays and an introduction to relays for Under 8 athletes, and best of all, there are no duty requirements! Just bring a chair, sit back and enjoy the day! While attendance at training and participation at the Mentone Relay day is not mandatory it is encouraged and may inform final team selections.
Training
Relay training will be run following the regular weekly training schedule organised by the club and it still to be locked in, but is likely to be from 6:30pm-7:00pm on Monday nights, and during the regular 5:30pm-6:30pm time on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the newsletters for commencement date information. Some Relay Age Group Managers may also arrange stand alone training outside of these times directly with the athletes and families.
Upon submitting your registration you will receive a confirmation email detailing your entry. This will contain instructions for withdrawing or changing entry details should you need.
Selection of final teams will be by the Caulfield LAC Relays sub-committee. Draft Team selections will be confirmed closer to the date of relays.
