Help Send Our Future Basketball Stars Overseas!

For many young athletes in Aotearoa, the dream of representing New Zealand on the international stage comes with a significant challenge - the cost.

Like many sports in New Zealand, basketball operates under a user-pays model. When a player is selected for an age-group national team, families are often responsible for covering travel and accommodation costs to attend key international tournaments.

While BBNZ subsidises a portion of each athlete’s costs and covers all tournament operations, families are still left with a substantial financial burden.

Introducing the BBNZ Raffle for 2025

To help ease this burden, we’ve launched the BBNZ Raffle - a fun and impactful way to support our national team athletes.

Here’s how it works:

• Buy a raffle ticket for $20.

• Choose to support a specific athlete or an entire team (your contribution will be split evenly across the team).

• 100% of your ticket purchase goes directly toward that athlete’s travel costs.

• You’ll also be entered into a draw to win a fantastic range of exclusive sports prizes - drawn on 1 August 2025.

It’s a great way to get behind our future basketball stars, helping them reach the world stage while giving yourself the chance to win something amazing in return!

Raffle Details

• i. The name of the society Basketball NZ Incorporated

• ii. The name and address of the organiser of the lottery Basketball New Zealand - 39 The Terrace, Wellington, 6011, Wellington, New Zealand

• iii. The authorised purposes for which the lottery is conducted Fundraising for NZ Basketball Age Group Representatives

• iv. When and where the lottery will be drawn - date, time, exact location Wellington Central Police Station, 01/08/2025

• v. The range of ticket numbers in the lottery (1 – 1,800)

• vi. Details of where, when and how results will be notified publicly (Email direct to winners, on BBNZ Website)

• vii. The value and characteristics of the prize(s) to be won  - 13 Prizes of various prizes valued at over $7,664

• viii.The cost of entry $20

• ix. The total number of tickets offered in the lottery 1,800 maximum

• x. The process for determining the winners - e.g. ticket butts drawn from a barrel. Ticket numbers drawn from a bag in front of a police officer

• xi. The process for cancelling the lottery - in the event of cancellation this will be published in NZ Herald on 01/08/2025 and purchases will be contacted to refund the money
