| Event Tides: | Saturday 10th April: Low Tide – 12:02pm 0.50m, High Tide – 18:22pm 1.80m
Sunday 11th April: Low Tide – 12:53pm 0.40m, High Tide – 19:07pm 1.80m Note: The event is run on the Wairoa River which is very tidal due to its location |
| Event Description: | The New Zealand Kayak Marathon Champs 2021, is hosted by the Bay of Plenty
Canoe Club. It will be either, one, two, three or four laps of a 6.5km course on the Wairoa River with the start and finish point in the middle opposite the Bay of Plenty Canoe Club. |
*All race divisions require 3 entrants minimum, otherwise age groups will be combined as appropriate.
Divisions
| K1 Male & Female – Tyros (U12) & Juniors (U14) | 6.5km, 1 Lap, 1 x portage, $20.00 entry fee per individual (Lifejackets Required) |
| K1 Male & Female – Juniors (U16) | 13km, 2 x Laps, 2 x portages, $20.00 entry fee per individual |
| K1 & K2 Male & Female – Juniors (U18) | 19.5km, 3 x Laps, 3 x portages, $20.00 entry fee per individual |
| K1 & K2 Male & Female – Open | 26km, 4 x Laps,4 x portages, $30.00 entry fee per individual |
K1 & K2 Male & Female – Masters 35-44, 45-54, 55-64
65+ | (need to be 2 or more in each age group, K2’s to compete in the youngest age group) 19.5km, 3 x Laps, 3 x portages, $30.00 entry fee per individual if not already entered in K1 event.
13km – 2 laps, no portages. |

Age groups read U18 (18 and under) etc. Age is calculated on your age at 31 December 2021. If you turn 18 this year you are U18 (18 and under). If you turn 19 this year you are Open.
