Melbourne Cup 2021

The Melbourne City Polo Club is pleased to announce nominations for Melbourne Cup Polo 2021. 

The Melbourne Cup will run across 2 weekends, the first being hosted at Eynesbury and mid week and final weekend at Melbourne City. 4 Goal will be played on both weekends, and 10 Goal will be played both weekends with a midweek game for all teams. Tournament play dates will be fluid, dates & locations may change without notice, if you are entering the Melbourne Cup, expect to play anytime between the 20th and 28th. We will of course do our best to stick to the advertised dates.

Each tournament will be capped at 6 Teams for the 10 Goal and 8 for the 4 Goal, or a maximum of 14 teams across both grades. We will accept nominations on a first and paid basis, and to the closest even number of teams. Get in early if you don’t want to be the odd team out.

The tournament will operate under Community Sport COVID guidelines, please ensure you follow all COVID protocol,s for each of the venues.

All nominations will be through the portal, with the first 8 teams to register in each grade to go through. Portal will open Friday 12th @ 8pm

Horse Stabling

If you require stabling or overnight accomodation for your horses at Werribee Park please email troy@leisureconcepts.com.au, and Ruki Ballieu for Eynesbury. Spaces are limited for horse accomodation, if you don’t make a booking, you will miss out.

Social Events

Saturday 20th Nov – Tournament Opening Dinner (Eynesbury) booking essential, book through the portal when you nominate your team.

Each team will receive 8 tickets for the opening dinner, further tickets can be purchased at $25 per head through the portal upon nomination. This will be the only opportunity to obtain tickets to this event, and catering will only be available for numbers registered only.

Sunday 28th Nov – WPNEC Club House, 4pm onwards, Tournament closing party and presentations.

                  Food and drinks will be available for all teams. 

Finals

Finals this year will be held on field 2 on Sunday the 28th of November, There will be 3 games played on the Sunday from 12pm, 4 Goal Final, 10 Goal Sub and 10 Goal Final.

Prize Giving will be held at the clubhouse from 4pm on Sunday the 28th, prizes will be awarded to:

Spectators

We will be opening up the event to spectators via carboot bookings. 5 people to a carboot, $250 per car. To book a car boot, please email angie@equiventures.com.au for payment instructions.

Close of Tournament

There will be a finals party at the end of the tournament starting shortly after the last game, there will be live music, food, drinks and of course presentations.
