As an official, you'll play a vital role in helping athletes perform at their best and achieve their dreams.Officiating at athletics competitions is both flexible and enjoyable. You can choose to attend as many or as few events as your schedule allows. We especially encourage young people to get involved and discover the excitement of the sport. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community.Level 1 coursesOur Level 1 course is a great way to take your first step in becoming an official, by learning about Athletics from the official's point of view, what you're looking for and how to assist athletes in an encouraging and collaborative environment. It involves an introduction to officiating, a practical walk through of the events and the stadium; followed by our General seminar, including an overview of athletics, safety and safeguarding; and finishing with an open book discussion-based assessment.The&nbsp;Level 1 officials course will be run from 9am-1pm on Saturday 11th October in Rotorua at the Lake City Athletics Clubrooms.Agenda:Saturday 11th October9-11:30am General officiating seminar (overview, H&amp;S, core knowledge) and events walk through11:30am-12pm Lunch12-1pm Discussion based assessment
