The Otago Cross Country Championships are open to club and community runners and walkers, however only an Athletics Otago registered competitive athlete can take a title.
Team's Races: In all grades, the first three (3) Athletics Otago registered runners from the same club to finish will count for the teams race.
Open 4km Run and Walk: Certificates will be awarded for these events. These two events are not championship events. The walk is not judged, but all entrants are expected to walk the entirre distance. Entrants in the 4km Walk that are observed to be running may be disqualified.
Ages are taken as at the 31st December 2024, except for Masters whose ages are taken from the date of the competition.
Masters Age Grades will be 35-49. 50-64, 65+
Children aged 8 or 9 can choose to run in either the Under 12 Race or the Under 10 Fun Run (not both).
All entries are to be done online via the Athletics Otago website. Online entries close Saturday 13th July at 6:00pm. Entries will be received after this time on payment of a $10 late fee.
Toilet and Changing Facilities: Available at the Chisholm Park Golf club rooms.
Competition Number: All entrants are required to check in at least 20 minutes prior to the start of their race to collect their competiton number. Numbers are to be returned after the race. Does not apply to the Under 8 Fun Run entrants.
Medal and Certificate Presentations: For most grades presentations will be held in the Chisholm Park Golf club rooms at 1:00pm. Presentations for the Under 16, Under 14 & Under 12 grades will be held at the completion of these events. Medals will be awarded to the first three (3) finishers in each age group. Certificates will be awarded to the winning team in each age group and the placegetters in the open 4km Run and Walk.
The Otago team for the NZ Cross Country Championships will be announced after the entries have closed on the Athletics New Zealand website
